CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

Smoother, firmer, more youthful skin

Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing, performed with the precision of a board-certified ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon.

What is CO2 laser skin resurfacing?

CO2 laser skin resurfacing is an in-office treatment that uses a fractionated carbon dioxide laser to remove damaged outer layers of skin in a controlled pattern, leaving surrounding tissue intact to speed healing. As the skin heals, it rebuilds with new collagen, resulting in a smoother texture and a visible reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage.

What can it treat?

Fine lines and wrinkles, including around the eyes and mouth. Sun damage and uneven pigmentation. Rough or uneven skin texture. Mild skin laxity.

Why have this done by an oculoplastic surgeon?

The skin around your eyes is thinner and more delicate than skin anywhere else on your face. Dr. McConnell's background in oculoplastic and eyelid surgery means he treats this area with the same precision he brings to eyelid lifts and blepharoplasty, so you get facial rejuvenation from a surgeon who has spent his career working close to the eye.

What is recovery like, and am I a candidate?

Downtime depends on how aggressive your treatment is. Lighter, more conservative sessions may involve 4-5 days of redness and peeling; deeper resurfacing can take up to two weeks to fully heal. Good candidates typically have visible fine lines, sun damage, or uneven texture and are in good general health. A consultation with Dr. McConnell will confirm the right treatment level and whether CO2 laser resurfacing is right for you.
